About This Publication

TheAdvisoryLetter.org is an independent watchdog publication documenting the accountability practices of Arizona's four medical regulatory boards — AMB, AZBN, AZBO, and ARBPA.

Data Sources

  • Board meeting minutes — extracted and analyzed systematically
  • Public records requests submitted pursuant to A.R.S. §39-121
  • Board annual reports published on agency websites
  • Arizona Auditor General performance audit and sunset review reports
  • Arizona Legislature public records
  • Personal accounts submitted by members of the public and verified through official board records

Verification Standards

Disciplinary actions are verified against a minimum of three independent sources before publication. Advisory letters are verified against board-produced documents obtained through public records requests. Complaint submissions are verified via dismissal letter or other official board documentation before publication. Unverified submissions are clearly labeled pending verification.

Publication Standards

Named physicians appearing in verified public records are identified by name as part of accurate public interest reporting. Physicians are offered a minimum of 14 days to respond before publication of any specific findings. Physician responses are published verbatim. Declining to respond is noted. A complete FOIA request log is published in the Data section.
